Originally from the UK, Liz has been the Director of SKIP since 2009. Liz has a Bsc (Hons) in Psychology and a MSW (Masters in Social Work) and was a child protection social worker for 5 years before joining SKIP in 2008. Having lived and worked in the USA, Guatemala, The Dominican Republic and Hong Kong, Liz was already an avid traveler before arriving in Peru and now spends much of her time moving between countries promoting SKIP and networking with our many international partner organisations. In February of 2014 Liz gave a TEDx Talk "Do Stuff you Love and Make a Difference" speaking about her own personal experiences and how they have shaped her career and passion for working in SKIP.

Vaida is from Lithuania and joined SKIP team in May 2014.

She graduated from Vilnius University with a Masters degree in Communication and Information and joined the production team in international film projects (which was a very intense "school" of management training and she feels grateful for that experience). After 5 years in film projects she decided that it is "now or never" and joined the volunteer programme in Denmark and later on in Malawi. The training in international development and volunteering shaped her future and led her to an environment project in St. Vincent where she worked as a leader of groups of volunteers.

She is very happy and passionate to continue working with volunteers and being able to help in their personal and professional development at SKIP in Peru.

Julieta is from Buenos Aries, Argentina and joined SKIP in 2011until 2013. After two years away working in finance management in other NGO's, Julieta is now returning to SKIP again, this time as the part time Finance Coordinator. Julieta has a Degree in Economics from the University of Buenos Aries and her work experience prior to SKIP was mainly in the private sector where she worked for L'Oreal and Belcorp, in the latter case working as the Finance Manager. She has also spent two years teaching in the The Economics and Social Policy Departments at the University of Buenos Aries.

D??maris is from Trujillo, Peru, and she is currently the Primary Coordinator at SKIP. She is a graduate in Primary Education and has worked in pre-schools for seven years. ???I am thankful for the opportunity I have been given to be part of this NGO. By being able to interact so closely with the children, parents, teachers and everyone who is part of SKIP, I will continue to grow professionally and as a person. Jean-Claire is from northern California, although she has extensive experience living, studying and working in Latin America. JC returned to Peru to SKIP in 2014 to work as the English Programme Coordinator, after serving twice before as a volunteer. A year on, she accepted a new position coordinating the programme for secondary students as well. She graduated with Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Sociology as well as a B.A. in Latin American studies from California State University, Chico.

Hilda Mar??a Pachamango Mart??nez, a native of Trujillo, came on board as the Social Work Coordinator in 2008. Since 2013, Hilda has been the Coordinator of the entire Family Welfare Department, supervising SKIP programmes in social work, psychology, economic development, and health. Hilda is a licensed social worker, and has degrees in Human Resources Management and in Labor Rights. In 2011 she completed her Rural and Marginal Urban Health Service (SERUMS) in the health center in Los Jardines, Trujillo and is now studying for a Masters in HR Management.

My name is Cynthia M??ndez, and I am a native of Trujillo. I studied social work at Universidad Nacional de Trujillo. I have been at SKIP since 2009, and have had the opportunity to do internships in social work. Working with low-income families in Porvenir is a very interesting experience. Since 2010 I have been a SKIP Social Worker, responsible for doing home visits to the families that SKIP works with, using social data and the interviews and assessments for CIS (to get free health care) and the poverty index, as well as offering educational trainings for mothers. I give orientations on various topics, from legal matters to health issues.

Brie is a licensed clinical psychologist from the United States, most recently hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, though she did most of her studies in Washington, DC. She completed her doctorate in clinical psychology in 2013 at the Catholic University of America, with a specialization in Children, Families, and Cultures. She first came to SKIP in 2009 as a volunteer and returned from 2010-2011 to serve as psychology coordinator. During this time, she completed her dissertation within SKIP, which examined rates of clinical depression and domestic violence in urban migrant women and how this affected child development.

My name is Anabel Bastra, and I am a native of Trujillo. I studied executive secretarial studies, and have been working at SKIP since 2010 as secretary and doing administrative work. I like being a part of the organisation because it has given me the opportunity for continued professional growth through trainings and the opportunity to put it into practice in the work I have been doing. I know that I still have a lot to learn and am continuing to grow in order to do my best for the organisation.

Cheyne has dedicated her professional life to working with disadvantaged children, adults and communities. Her qualifications are a BA Hons. (Psychology) and an MA in International Development and ESL instruction. In her home country Australia, Cheyne worked for over 7 years at a Foundation committed to providing quality care to children and young people who have experienced complex trauma and neglect. For Cheyne, this work was incredibly influential, and she credits this organisaiton for the child-centered approach to her work and for her focus on strong staff support systems. In Peru, Cheyne was the Director of a Language School, working with disadvantaged communities to provide children with quality English language education. For Cheyne, Peru has become a second home, a place she loves dearly. Cheyne has worked as a freelance translator for a number of years and is excited to have found a way to contribute to SKIP.
