Boosting literacy by 16% on International Literacy Day

  • Several University of Hull students, from the UK, have marked International Literacy Day volunteering for SKIP Peru in northern Peru to help improve the literacy rate amongst children. Despite more than than half of SKIP's students living below the poverty line, their involvement in the charity has led to them having 16 per cent improved literacy skills compared to their peers.
